Subaru Forester Difference between A / T tires and M / T.

Let the jeepers not criticize me strongly, for which A / Tand M / T are understandable as "our father." For me, as a novice amateur to climb where normal people don’t bother, I decided to deal with the abbreviations A / T and M / T on tires, as I’m starting to think about changing the standard rubber. H / P (High Performance)

Pure road rubber. For driving on asphalt roads. The tires are as close as possible to the tires of a passenger car - for a dynamic ride.They have quietness, good grip on a flat highway. The tread is not high,"racing".

H / T (Highway Terrain)

For driving primarily on paved roads. Road tires. The tread is not high, typical for light rubber. The sidewall of the tire is poorly protected.

A / T (All Terrain)

Universal rubber for driving both on asphalt and liftoff-road. The tread is more aggressive than the H / T (taller and more grippy),the sidewall is more protected. Designed for asphalt, dirt roads, sand, stone,snow, everyday use. Not suitable for: driving in deep ruts and clay.

All means that the tire behaves well both on and off the tarmac. But you shouldn't get into strong shit, since the protectors are easily clogged with dirt.

A / T tires are the best option for 4WD cars, if you drive not only around the city, but also go on "light" off-road.

M / T (Mud Terrain)

Mud in English means mud - tires for off-road driving. The tread is "like a tractor", has side lugs, it is more difficult to clog up with mud. The rubber is more oak than A / T and is not very good on asphalt (do not drive on the highway), as well as behaves badly on ice.Designed for: driving on bumpy roads, ruts, clay, wetlands.

In my case, it is preferable to choose A / T tires, since95% of the time I move on the asphalt and only 5% move along the broken terrain,in winter it is definitely studded tires.
